I was first brought into L’Oréal, the world’s largest beauty brand, for an initial freelance assignment in the Matrix Global Marketing department. Initially, my work involved Art Direction & Production of Advertisements, Collaterals, and Promotionals. Pleased with my skills and attitude, my assignment was broadened.

L’Oréal brought me in again, one year later, for an extended assignment to help with the launch of a new brand: Biolage RAW. Upon the completion of the brand launch, I was invited to stay on full-time as an ongoing, freelance Creative Consultant. In this capacity, I function as a “jack of all trades”, handling everything from photo retouching to art direction. Eventually, I was promoted to manage the development of the product packaging for all 18 Matrix brands.

Macy’s brought me in for a four-day assignment in the Visual Merchandising department. I was able to immediately jump in and get them out of a difficult crunch time. Impressed, they extended the assignment week after week for over four additional months. My primary role was Art Direction for various in-store advertising and signage. As part of the Visual Merchandising team, I was also asked to lend support in the areas of Photoshop retouching, digital illustration, and in-store displays.

As deadline pressure mounted, I took on additional responsibilities of managing the artwork for the hundreds of Black Friday sales event signage.

Before taking a new freelance assignment at L’Oréal, I received one additional project from Macy’s — this time in The Fashion Office. I was commissioned to create a Keynote presentation which was to feature the 2017 Fashion Trends.

My career started at a very small agency, outside Little Rock, Arkansas. Afterward, I worked for a brief time at a small print shop, learning Pre-Press, and hands-on printing. While there, I impressed an agency VP and Production Manager who hired me within his firm, Heathcott Associates — which was the 3rd largest Advertising Agency in the entire region.

At Heathcott, I was promoted from Production Artist to Print Designer, and then again to Art Director — in under three years. Working directly with the Creative Director, I was responsible for numerous accounts, including: KFC, AT&T & Taco Bell.

Next, I moved to FLTI, a very large, multi-national organization, which specializes in Publishing, Events & Media. As one of the top Creative Leaders, I headed the Creative Direction for Branding, Design, and Development of numerous products, publications, events, and media outlets. I then took on additional responsibility as the Design Lead & UX/UI/IA Specialist for the e-commerce website, which served thousands of customers per day.

In 2008, I started to work independently full-time, which allowed me to:

    • Freelanced for 7 Advertising Agencies in the areas of creative direction, art direction, flash animation & web design

    • Developed branding and identity for 31 separate organizations

    • Creative directed, designed, and managed the development of 19 websites and 2 Flash presentations

    • Consulted 27 startups in marketing, advertising, and branding

    • Commissioned, collaborated, and lead 15 independent contractors for 37 marketing projects

In addition to Advertising Agency experience, I’ve also completed several freelance assignments within corporate environments, including: L’Oréal, Macy’s & Fujifilm.
